Fausto Sea Artisans, a premium canned seafood brand, stands out for it’s deep love for the fish and it’s environment and strong commitment to quality and sustainable methods. Thus, Volta Studio created a brand that gave the fish, it’s environment and the artisanal traditions the recognition they deserved.

In the packaging, the fish is given center stage, represented in white embossing like a sculpture upon a pedestal. By giving the fish a 3D feel and representing it diagonal directions — opposed to the stationary mood of the common horizontal representations — we give the fish life. This way the premiumness is not placed upon the brand name, but the product itself — Fausto’s main character.
The typographical approach is simple and sophisticated, to let the emboss shine. In the product descriptions, a dynamic system with delicate merge of italic and bold words was created to communicate the importance Fausto puts into the most important details, highlighting what really matters — the product, the craftsmanship, the quality.

Printing the packaging all in one colour — Deep Sea Blue — brings together the simplicity and elegance of the design while being ecologically responsible. In the brand communication, the focus on what matters is kept by applying the packaging’s minimalist typographical approach over beautiful representations of the fish’s natural environment — stunning natural landscapes that made the communication claim obvious for us: The art of the sea.

In this project we are proud to say we created an understated brand that, like the company it represents, is not focused mainly it itself, its logo or its claim, but in its main love — the fish.
